Weekend in Emergency (WARNING Graphic Post)

We are all okay now.  But what a horrible weekend!  I was getting ready for work on Saturday morning I had just put in my 2 prometrium suppositories and my estrace, I was doing my hair and I felt a 'pop' and then a little gush.  I was cursing my way to the master bathroom bitching about the suppositories and the mess they make when lo behold it was not progesterone oil, but blood.  And not a little bit but a lot.  It was pouring out of me.

After JD got himself together, we immediately left for the Emergency Room.  Our Hospital was quite wonderful with us.  They really rushed to get us a bed and they made sure we had our own room with a bathroom.  It took almost 4 hours to get an u/s done though due to staffing issues.  The tech was able to find the heartbeats.  Baby A was 6wk6dys and Baby B was still 6 wk3dys, but they were there and still had heartbeats.

Honestly I have no idea how it is possible, considering how much blood I lost, but I take solace in the positive ultra sound.  What they did find was that I have a Sub Chronic Hematoma.  It is a tear (blood clot) in the lining under the placenta that bursts.  The ER doctor assured us that it is far away from the babies and that they are fine.

I have been on bed rest since being released on Saturday.  I'm not bleeding (fresh) anymore, but I am still bleeding.  To say that we are terrified is an understatement.  I am having another ultrasound on Thursday to make sure everyone is okay.  I pray with everything that I have that they are still there hanging in.  And I pray with all my heart that Baby B starts catching up.

Please pray for us that this SCH heals itself soon.  And please pray that both these babies keep growing and getting stronger.

Much Love

Oh KS, I'm so sorry. I cannot even imagine how scared you are right now. Know that I am thinking about you and praying for you, your husband and your two sweetpeas, especially sweetpea B.

Glad to hear all is well with the babies. I am 2 days behind you and also have a sub-chorionic hematoma and just came off bed rest yesterday when my u/s showed everything is okay with the baby. It sucks. I feel for you and the worry it creates. Mr dr just took me off the aspirin daily to stop the spotting (hopefully)my blog is lifesabeachnc@blogspot.com if you want to read about my experience. Wishing you well, Dee

I had some similarbleeding with our twins, which is how we discovered we were having twins in the first place! It was very scary. I bled off and on until 8 weeks and although I didn't go on bedrest, I probably should have. Instead I just tried to take it easy. What was so frustrating to mr is how everyone dismissed my fears saying things like, "bleeding is very common in twin pregnancies." but it doesn't make it less scary. Thinking of you!
