Our Journey

  • 1999 -  diagnosed with precancerous cells.  Laser burn surgery performed.  Advised if second surgery required will have to remove the top of the cervix.
  • 2000 -  Many, many biopsies later finally cleared. (went on Depot shot, apparently it can help with cysts and is a deterrent for ovarian cancer.)
  • 2001 -  Married
  • 2003 -  Stopped all birth control (depot shot)
  • 2004 -  Really started trying (charting)

  • 2007 -  Dr's appointments begin
  • 2007 -  Finally referred to an Ob/Gyn
  • 2007 - Ob/Gyn wants to do Lap for exploratory reasons 
  • 2007 -  (Nov) Pre-Op appointment.  Advise Dr. haven't been feeling well, have gained 25 lb in 2 months...?
  • 2007 -  (Dec) Exploratory Laproscopic surgery - reveals one tube totally blocked, one partially open, but clubbed.  Uterine biopsy looks fine should have no problems carrying.
  • 2008 -  (Jan) PreOp blood work shows Hashimoto Thyroiditis.  All trying is put on hold until tsh in normal range and cleared by Endo.
  • 2008 -  (June) Clomid for 2 months
  • 2008 -  (Oct) referred to RE
  • 2008 -  finally diagnosed POF (fsh 14)
  • 2008 -  2009  watch and wait, try to get fsh in lower range to try IVF
  • 2009 -  (Feb) try a hail mary IUI - BFN
  • 2009 -  (Mar) FSH spikes to 72!!!
  • 2009 -  (Apr-May) EPP - cancelled too many cysts
  • 2009 -  Started DE Process
  • 2009 -  (Aug) allergic reaction to meds, dropped lining, no option left must vitrify eggs.
  • 2009 -  (Sept) cancelled again bad reaction to different drug.
  • 2009 -  (Nov) finally 4 embryos on Day 3, transferred 2 BFN
  • 2010 -  (Jan) 2 frozen embryos make the thaw and grow to day 5 transferred both.  BIG FAT NEGATIVE Again!!! 
  • 2010 - signing up for a Shared Risk Guarantee Program - apparently I will need a couple of transfers to find success (Gosh dang it!)
  • 2010 - have both tubes removed due to Hydrosalpinges (toxic tubes)
  • 2010 - Tubeless and ready to rock with new clinic! 
  • 2010 - Cycle in October with Shady Grove in Washington DC.  5 eggs, 5 fertilize, transfer 2 on day 5, and freeze 1 on day 6.
  • 2010 - find out we are pregnant with twins
  • 2010 - 11/11/10 we lose baby B to a SCH, put on modified bed rest.
  • 2011 - deliver a healthy baby girl 5 weeks early.  Tough pregnancy, and a tiny baby, but she's beautiful and healthy and we are finally a complete family.
  • 2012 - we'll just have to wait and see if we can hopefully become a family of 4!
Life is so wonderfully different now.  I will always be indebted to my beautiful donor.  She has given us the most precious wonderful gift anyone could ever give us!
